Job Description
Federally Funded
CPSE (Committee on Preschool Special Education) Coordinator in NYS, Bachelor's degree in Education/Human Services, experience in special ed/social work, strong knowledge of NYS regs (IEPs, ATLAS system), and great communication/organization.
Qualifications (focus on program management for family liaison, compliance, and coordinating services for preschoolers with disabilities).
Common Qualifications & Skills:
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Education, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.
• Experience: Previous experience in early childhood, special education, social work, case management, or community outreach.
• Knowledge: Deep understanding of NYS Education Law, CPSE/CSE regulations, IEP process, and state databases (like ATLAS).
Skills:
o Excellent communication (written/oral) and interpersonal skills.
o Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and record-keeping.
o Relationship-building with families, providers, and agencies.
o Problem-solving and strategic thinking.
Key Responsibilities often include and require (12month position):
• Supporting CPSE Chairpersons and facilitating meetings.
• Assisting families with the evaluation and service process.
• Ensuring compliance with state regulations.
• Managing paperwork, records, and program documentation.
• Developing and delivering training/professional development
