
26-27 CSE/504 K-5 Chairperson
Job Description
The CSE chairperson must have a solid knowledge of �504 and CSE NYS law, guidelines and regulations as related to Special Education services.
The chair must have the ability to:
- Define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions,
- Interpret an extensive variety of data and deal with several agencies that include: OPWDD, and ACCESS-VR
- Understand the Statutory and Regulatory Foundations, ESSA IDEA FAPE, Additional Federal Laws, SPP/Annual Performance Plan (APR), NYS Laws and Commissioner's Regulations, Part 200 and Additional NYS Policy and Guidance Blueprint for Improved Results for Students with Disabilities
Candidate will:
- Understand the special education process (from referral to reevaluation) as delineated in education laws and regulations and OCR under �504.
- Know the role of the Chairperson and the Committee.
- Develop practices that encourage parental involvement and cultivate home-school partnerships.
- Identify strategies for leading the Committee in making high-quality decisions that will result in an individualized education program (IEP) that meets State requirements and will result in educational benefit to the student.

Candidate must have a full knowledge of FAPE as it relates to CSE and transitions to Post CSE, that include:
Referral
