Position Overview:
Fredericksburg City Public Schools is seeking a passionate and dedicated School Psychologist Intern to join our dynamic team. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a supportive, equity-focused environment while making a meaningful impact on students' academic and emotional success.
As a School Psychologist Intern, you will:
- Deliver individual and group counseling services to students in grades K–12, focusing on enhancing educational outcomes.
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations including screenings, assessments, observations, and reporting to support educational planning.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to determine eligibility for special education services and contribute to the development of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Support school-based initiatives such as Response to Intervention (RTI), Child Study Teams, and Threat Assessment protocols.
- Consult with educators, families, and staff to recommend accommodation and interventions tailored to student needs.
- Uphold the mission, vision, and values of Fredericksburg City Public Schools, maintaining confidentiality and ethical standards.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support student well-being and school improvement efforts.
- Master’s Degree required.
- Must be currently enrolled in a graduate-level school psychology program.
- Experience working with K–12 students preferred.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple cases and adapt to evolving needs.
