Lunch Monitor (Elementary)

Greenville Independent School District
Part-Time | 3-4 Hours Per Day 


Position Overview

Greenville ISD is seeking dependable and student-focused Elementary Lunch Monitors to support campus operations during meal service. This position helps maintain a safe, orderly, and positive cafeteria environment for elementary students.


Primary Purpose

Supervise students during lunch periods to ensure safety, appropriate behavior, and adherence to campus expectations in alignment with district policies and procedures.


Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Ability to work effectively with elementary-aged students
  • Strong communication and supervision skills
  • Ability to remain calm and consistent in a busy environment
  • Must meet district background check requirements

Major Responsibilities and Duties

Student Supervision

  • Monitor students in the cafeteria and designated lunch areas
  • Reinforce campus behavior expectations and cafeteria procedures
  • Assist students as needed (opening items, seating guidance, etc.)
  • Ensure student safety at all times

Cafeteria Support

  • Help maintain a clean and orderly lunch environment
  • Assist with transitions to and from the cafeteria
  • Report behavioral or safety concerns to campus administration

Working Conditions

Physical Demands:

  • Frequent standing and walking
  • Ability to supervise large groups of students

Schedule:

  • Part-time, typically 3�4 hours per day
  • Not eligible for district benefits
