Position Overview
Greenville ISD is seeking qualified and student-centered School Psychologists (LSSPs) to support the academic, behavioral, and social-emotional success of students across the district. Multiple positions are available district wide. The School Psychologist collaborates with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams to promote positive learning environments and ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
Intern LSSP candidates who are completing program requirements and eligible for internship placement are encouraged to apply.
Primary Purpose
Provide psychological services including evaluation, consultation, and intervention in accordance with the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), Texas Education Agency (TEA) regulations, and district procedures.
Qualifications
Education / Certification:
- Master's degree or higher in School Psychology or related field
- Valid Licensed Specialist in School Psychology (LSSP) credential issued by the Texas State Board of Examiners of Psychologists (TSBEP)
OR - Eligible for LSSP Internship and enrollment in an approved School Psychology program
- Must meet all TEA certification and assignment requirements
Special Knowledge / Skills:
- Knowledge of IDEA, special education procedures, and ARD/IEP processes
- Strong skills in psychoeducational assessment and data interpretation
- Knowledge of behavioral intervention strategies and mental health supports
- Ability to consult effectively with educators and families
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and meet compliance timelines
Major Responsibilities and Duties
Assessment & Evaluation
- Conduct psychoeducational evaluations and re-evaluations
- Interpret assessment data and prepare comprehensive evaluation reports
- Participate in ARD/IEP meetings and provide eligibility recommendations
Consultation & Intervention
- Provide consultation to teachers, administrators, and parents regarding academic and behavioral interventions
- Support development and implementation of behavior intervention plans (BIPs)
- Assist with crisis response and threat assessment processes as needed
Compliance & Documentation
- Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with IDEA, TEA, and district requirements
- Ensure evaluation timelines and procedural safeguards are followed
Professional Collaboration
- Collaborate with special education staff, counselors, and administrators
- Participate in professional development and required trainings
- Support district initiatives related to student mental health and behavior

- Maintain emotional control and professionalism in high-stress situations
