Multiple Positions Available - District Wide
Position Overview
Greenville ISD is seeking highly qualified Dyslexia Teachers to provide specialized, evidence-based dyslexia instruction to identified students across the district. Multiple positions are available district wide. The ideal candidate is knowledgeable in structured literacy practices and committed to supporting students with reading differences through targeted intervention.
Primary Purpose
Provide dyslexia intervention services in accordance with the Texas Education Agency (TEA) Dyslexia Handbook, Section 504 requirements, and district procedures to support students with characteristics of dyslexia in achieving academic success.
Qualifications
Education / Certification:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
- Valid Texas teaching certificate
- CALT (Certified Academic Language Therapist) or CALP (Certified Academic Language Practitioner) certification required
- Must meet all TEA certification and assignment requirements
Special Knowledge / Skills:
- Strong knowledge of structured literacy and multisensory instructional approaches
- Understanding of the TEA Dyslexia Handbook and Section 504 processes
- Ability to analyze student data and monitor progress
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to maintain accurate documentation and confidentiality
Experience:
- Experience providing dyslexia or structured literacy intervention preferred
- Experience working with elementary and/or secondary students preferred
Major Responsibilities and Duties
Dyslexia Intervention Services
- Provide direct, systematic, multisensory dyslexia instruction to identified students
- Implement structured literacy programs aligned with district and state requirements
- Monitor student progress and adjust instruction based on data
Compliance & Documentation
- Maintain documentation in accordance with the TEA Dyslexia Handbook and Section 504 guidelines
- Participate in Section 504 meetings as required
- Maintain accurate records of student services and progress
Collaboration & Support
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, campus administrators, and intervention staff
- Communicate student progress and instructional strategies with families
- Support district literacy initiatives and professional development efforts
Professional Responsibilities
- Participate in required trainings and professional learning
- Stay current with dyslexia research and best practices
- Perform other duties as assigned to support student literacy outcomes
Working Conditions
Physical Demands:
- Frequent standing, walking, and use of instructional materials
Mental Demands:
- Ability to manage multiple student groups and maintain emotional control
