Position Overview
Greenville ISD is seeking a qualified Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide speech and language services to students with communication disorders. The SLP supports students' academic success by evaluating, diagnosing, and providing therapy services in compliance with federal, state, and district regulations.
Primary Purpose
Assess and provide intervention for students with speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders in accordance with the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), Texas Education Agency (TEA) guidelines, and district procedures.
Qualifications
Education / Certification:
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited university
- Valid Texas license as a Speech-Language Pathologist issued by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR)
- Valid Texas SBEC certification as a Speech-Language Pathologist
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred
Special Knowledge / Skills:
- Knowledge of IDEA, special education procedures, and ARD processes
- Strong assessment, diagnostic, and therapy planning skills
- Ability to develop and implement IEP goals
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to maintain accurate documentation and confidentiality
Experience:
- Experience in a school-based setting preferred
Major Responsibilities and Duties
Assessment & Evaluation
- Conduct speech and language evaluations and re-evaluations
- Interpret evaluation data and prepare comprehensive reports
- Participate in ARD/IEP meetings and provide recommendations
Therapy & Intervention
- Provide direct and indirect speech therapy services as outlined in IEPs
- Develop measurable IEP goals aligned with student needs
- Monitor and document student progress
Compliance & Documentation
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with IDEA and TEA requirements
- Ensure service logs, evaluation timelines, and reports meet regulatory standards
Collaboration & Professional Responsibilities
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and related service providers
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding student progress
- Participate in professional development and district meetings

- Frequent sitting, standing, and use of therapy materials

- Ability to manage caseload responsibilities and meet compliance deadlines
