Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA)

Position Overview
Greenville ISD is seeking a qualified Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) to support the delivery of speech therapy services under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist.
Primary Purpose
Assist in providing speech-language therapy services to students in accordance with IDEA, TEA regulations, and under the supervision of a licensed SLP.
Qualifications
Education / Certification:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Communication Disorders or related field
- Valid Texas license as a Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) issued by TDLR
- Must meet all TEA and district requirements
Special Knowledge / Skills:
- Knowledge of speech and language development
- Ability to implement therapy activities designed by supervising SLP
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Ability to work collaboratively and maintain confidentiality
Experience:
- School-based experience preferred
Major Responsibilities and Duties
Therapy Support
- Implement therapy plans and activities developed by supervising SLP
- Provide direct therapy services to students as directed
- Assist with data collection and progress monitoring
Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain service logs and therapy documentation
- Assist in preparing materials for evaluations and ARD meetings
- Ensure compliance with district and state guidelines
Collaboration
- Work under direct supervision of a licensed SLP
- Communicate student progress and concerns to supervising SLP
- Participate in meetings and trainings as assigned
Working Conditions
Physical Demands:
- Frequent sitting, standing, and movement between campuses
Mental Demands:
- Ability to manage assigned caseload under supervision
