Position Overview
Greenville ISD is seeking a dependable and committed Long-Term Substitute Teacher to serve at Crockett Elementary. This position provides instructional continuity for students during an extended teacher absence and plays a key role in maintaining a structured, supportive learning environment.
Primary Purpose
Provide classroom instruction, student supervision, and classroom management for an extended assignment in accordance with Texas Education Agency (TEA) requirements, district curriculum, and campus procedures.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Valid Texas teaching certificate preferred but not required
- Ability to work effectively with elementary-aged students
- Ability to follow district curriculum and campus expectations
- Must meet all district background check requirements
Daily Pay Rates
Days 1�20 of the Same Assignment:
- $90 per day � Qualified (Associate's degree or less)
- $110 per day � Degreed (Bachelor's degree or higher)
- $120 per day � Certified Teacher
- $150 per day � Retired Teacher
Beginning Day 21 in the Same Assignment:
- $120 per day � Qualified
- $130 per day � Degreed
- $140 per day � Certified Teacher
- $150 per day � Retired Teacher
Major Responsibilities and Duties
Instruction & Classroom Management
- Deliver instruction using lesson plans, curriculum resources, and pacing guides
- Maintain an organized, structured, and positive classroom environment
- Implement classroom routines, behavior expectations, and campus procedures
- Support student academic progress and engagement
Professional & Campus Responsibilities
- Communicate effectively with campus administration and grade-level teams
- Maintain accurate classroom records as required
- Participate in meetings or trainings as requested for long-term assignments
- Ensure student safety at all times
Working Conditions
Physical Demands:
- Frequent standing, walking, and classroom movement

- Ability to manage classroom behavior and maintain emotional control
