Job Description
Title: Speech Language Pathology Aide
Reports To: Supervising Speech Language Pathologist
Qualifications: Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Speech and Language Disorders, Communication Disorders, or a similar field

Specific Performance Responsibilities:
- Assist the SLP as a resource to school staff members in the development of a balanced program for oral communication and speech improvement
- Assist the SLP in providing a therapeutic program to meet the individual needs of students with speech and/or hearing impairments.
- Assist the SLP in providing a thorough assessment of articulation, voice, hearing, fluency, or language impairments without clinical interpretation
- Assist the SLP in screening to identify students with speech impairment at regular intervals and at specified levels without clinical interpretation.
- Follow documented treatment plans or protocols developed by the supervising SLP
- Document student performance and report this information to the supervising SLP
- Program and provide instruction in the use of AAC devices.
- Provide information, support, and counseling to parents and families when appropriate and under the guidance of the supervising SLP.
