PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Accompany and assist in teaching solos, small ensembles, and choral groups in rehearsals and at performances.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
- Bachelor's Degree in Music, Music Education, or Music Performance.
- Valid Texas teaching certificate, or be able to go through an Alternative Certification Program, leading to Texas Certification.
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Primary instrument – piano; high degree of proficiency on piano.
- Must be able to sight-read music and read an open score.
- Must be able to follow conductor and play choral and vocal accompaniments.
- Knowledge of healthy vocal techniques and choral pedagogy.
Experience:
- At least one year of student teaching or approved internship.
