
Data Integration and Management Specialist

Primary Purpose:
The Data Integration & Management Specialist is responsible for overseeing the flow, integration, and security of data across critical educational systems. This role ensures seamless connectivity between backend platforms�including Student Information Systems (SIS), Learning Management Systems (LMS), and educational applications�supporting accurate, secure, and efficient data use across the organization.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification/Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Data Management, Computer Science or related field
Experience working with SIS & LMS platforms and educational technology tools
Experience with automation tools and scripting (e.g. SQL, Python)
Strong knowledge of data integration methods (APIs, SFTP, middleware, etc)
Experience in K-12 preferred
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Familiarity with data visualization or reporting tools
- Knowledge of data security standards and privacy regulations (e.g., FERPA).
- Proficiency in troubleshooting data issues and working with cross-functional teams.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
- Manage and maintain data integrations between SIS, LMS, and third-party educational tools and applications.
- Monitor and optimize data flow processes to ensure accuracy, consistency, and reliability across systems.
- Implement and enforce data security protocols, ensuring compliance with FERPA and other applicable regulations.
- Troubleshoot integration issues and coordinate with vendors or internal teams to resolve data discrepancies.
- Design and document data workflows, integration architecture, and system dependencies.
- Support data migration, system upgrades, and onboarding of new digital tools.
- Collaborate with IT, curriculum, and administrative teams to align data systems with organizational needs.
- Develop and maintain automation processes to improve efficiency and reduce manual data handling.
- Conduct regular audits to ensure data integrity and system performance.
- Provide support to users for assigned systems within the student information system as well as assigned third party packages.
- Work within project guidelines and time constraints.
- Prioritize and schedule work based on competing demands of multiple projects.

Pay/Work Calendar:
Salary based on district pay scale and years of experience.
District-paid insurance contribution and benefits according to the district compensation plan.
