Position follows St. Bernard school calendar
Salary - $48 per hour, One day per week (6.50 hours per day)
Reports to Director of Special Education, Montville Public Schools
Position Overview
St. Bernard School, a faith-based parochial school serving students in grades 6-12, is seeking a qualified School Psychologist to provide services one day per week during the school year. This position is grant-funded and focuses on supporting students' academic, social-emotional, and behavioral well-being within a collaborative and student-centered environment.
The school psychologist will work closely with school leadership, teachers, families, and outside service providers to help identify student needs, support interventions, and promote positive student outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct psychoeducational/academic evaluations and assist with interpretation of assessment data as appropriate
- Provide consultation to teachers and staff regarding learning, behavioral, and social-emotional concerns
- Support the development and monitoring of student intervention plans
- Collaborate with parents/guardians regarding student needs and recommendations
- Participate in student support team meetings as needed
- Assist school staff in implementing evidence-based strategies to support student success
- Help connect families with outside resources when appropriate
- Support students with transition, vocation and employment exploration and activities.
Qualifications
- Master's or Specialist degree in School Psychology (or related field)
- Current state certification or eligibility for certification as a School Psychologist
- Experience working with school-aged children
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a faith-based educational environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in private or parochial school settings
Schedule
- One day per week during the academic year (schedule flexible based on school needs)
