JOB EXPECTATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
Position Purpose / Description |
Under the supervision of the Director of Transportation, the receptionist is responsible for performing the following duties:
- Foster good communication and diplomatic resolutions as a first contact between the TransportationDepartment, callers or anyone (driver, public, school employee, etc.) coming into office.
- Assist with radio calls as needed.
Become cross-trained as needed in other transportation areas including GPS, and other software
applications.
- Assist with radio calls as needed.
- Maintain a file system for all bus seating charts.
- Order office supplies as needed for all office staff.
- Assist in preparation of any general transportation related projects, i.e. mass mailing, copying, document research, etc.
- Assist the Special Needs Coordinator in assigning Bus Assistants to routes when needed.
- Assist Directors with school messages for late buses when needed.
- Communicating daily with schools & admin with route/student changes.
- Other duties as assigned byTransportation leadership.
| Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities |
- Post high school education, computer experience and experience in student transportation functions preferred.
- It is essential for candidates to possess excellent customer service and communication skills, displaying professional behavior to all staff members, district employees, parents, students and the general public.
- The ability to maintain strict confidentiality, keeping all information within the Transportation office.
