Civics Teacher--Summer School - 2 Openings
Job Description
Description: Mahomet-Seymour High School is currently accepting applications for two Summer School Civics Teachers. Applicants may apply for one or both sessions.
Session I: May 29th - June 18th. Hours are 7:45 a.m - 12:15 p.m.
Session II: June 22nd - July 13th (no school on July 3rd). Hours are 7:45 a.m - 12:15 p.m.
Qualifications:
- Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with appropriate Social Science endorsement
- Demonstrated knowledge of Illinois Civics requirements and instructional mandates
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment
Salary: Rate of pay is $37/hour (through 06/30/2026*) for each hour of student contact plus two hours of paid prep time per week.
*Please Note: Our existing 4-year collective bargaining agreement will expire at the end of the 2025-2026 school year and we will be negotiating a new agreement that will begin with the 2026-2027 school year on 07/01/2026).
