Job Description

Glenbrook South High School's Multilingual Learners department is seeking an Instructional Assistant - Advanced Support: Language and Family Liaison - Spanish for the 2026-2027 school year. 

Under general supervision, the Language and Family Liaison - Spanish serves as a liaison between District 225 and our students or parents/guardians who require communication support. Language and Family Liaisons may perform a wide range of tasks to support the efforts of ML communication requirements to meet the needs of ML students and parents. Employee provides assistance with translation, interpretation, and socio-cultural needs across a variety of meetings, events, and 1:1 connections.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Paraprofessional, Substitute, Teacher, or PEL license with Stipulations issued by ISBE is required before starting the position.
  2. Experience in an educational setting preferred.
  3. Must hold or be able to earn Qualified Interpreter Approval by the Illinois State Board of Education.
  4. Bilingual in English and selected language is required with advanced proficiency in reading, writing, interpreting, and translating.
  5. Ability to work evening and weekend events is required.
