Description:
The Program Staff are responsible for planning and providing a safe and supportive learning environment for all students. This includes working with a variety of ages and skill levels within the program, all while displaying a dedication and passion for the subject matter. We are seeking a Costume director for ISD728 Community Education Summer theatre program of Addams Family presenting at Elk River High School Performing Arts Center

Job Summary:
1. Design all costumes in accordance with the directors' vision and within the confines of the budget and school decency standards. Costumes, in many cases, may need to be "dancable."
2. Manage the efforts of all volunteer/ student costumers.
3. Attend production meetings or meet with artistic and technical directors as available.
4. Measure all cast members within the first two days of read-through.
5. Conduct/coordinate all costume fittings on students and make alterations.
6. Purchase/Rent/Build all costume pieces, fabric, trim, patterns and notions needed.
7. Stay within the prescribed budget.
8. Oversee hair/makeup design & implementation for production.
9. Fill out and submit expense reports in a timely fashion.
10. Attend dress rehearsals.
11. At the end of the production, coordinate the washing of all costume pieces as appropriate

12. Ensure that all costume pieces are returned to the costume storage room and are placed in bins and labeled or hung up in an orderly fashion. Or if going to nother location, placed in bins to that destination
13. Ensure complete costumes in time for the costume parade.
14. Model appropriate behavior and represent the school and district in a positive manner

Qualifications:
1. High school diploma or equivalent experience
2. Experience in program area content.
3. Possess good organizational skills
4. Demonstrates professionalism while working with staff, parents, and community contacts.

5. Available during Theater season for July 16-17, 20-24, 28-31, Aug 1st Aug 6,7, 10-15th and for an orientation.
 

Communication:
1. Will communicate all questions or concerns to the Director or Production Manager.
2. Will communicate with parents as requested, including parent volunteer opportunities, and deliver a consistent (team/school/district) message to students and parents.
 

Schedule:
1. Pre-production inventory of costumes (starting week of May 11)

2.Orientation prior to rehearsals starting 

3. 4.5 weeks of rehearsals 
4. Two cast productions
