Background:
About the role:
The Technical Project Manager is responsible for the end-to-end delivery of complex IT projects across infrastructure, cloud platforms, and cybersecurity domains. This role ensures projects are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned to business and security objectives while maintaining high standards of governance, risk management and stakeholder engagement.
A key focus of the role is ensuring high-quality project documentation and artefacts to support seamless operational handover.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning and execution of infrastructure, cloud, and cybersecurity projects.
- Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, and success criteria aligned to business priorities.
- Manage full project lifecycle using structured methodologies (e.g., PRINCE2, Agile, hybrid models).
- Ensure robust governance, including RAID logs (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies), reporting, and escalation management.
- Deliver clear executive reporting, including status dashboards, financial tracking, and risk posture.
- Oversee delivery of core infrastructure initiatives.
- Manage migration programmes across cloud and hybrid environments.
- Ensure solutions align with architecture standards, resilience and security requirements.
- Deliver cybersecurity initiatives aligned to firm-wide security strategy.
- Support AI security and governance initiatives including implementation of secure AI adoption frameworks.
- Ensure security-by-design principles are embedded across all infrastructure, cloud, and AI-enabled projects.
- Work closely with security teams to ensure regulatory and policy compliance (e.g., ISO 27001, 42001 and NIST frameworks).
- Act as the key interface between IT Operations, Infrastructure & Security teams, Business stakeholders and external vendors/service providers.
- Translate technical concepts into business-aligned outcomes and value.
- Facilitate workshops, steering committees, and executive updates.
- Manage third-party vendors delivering infrastructure, cloud, and security services.
- Track and manage project budgets, including CAPEX/OPEX forecasting and cost control.
- Support procurement processes and vendor selection.
- Proactively identify and manage technical and project risks.
- Ensure projects align with internal information security policies and audit requirements.
- Support security assessments, penetration testing remediation, and audit readiness.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology or a related field AND
- At least 5 years’ experience in project management with a track record of delivering IT infrastructure and cyber security projects.
- Strong understanding of IT infrastructure and Security technologies, including cloud technologies/services, security, networking, servers and storage.
- ITIL Foundation or similar service management awareness.
- Strong knowledge of security principles and risk management
- PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile certification(s) certified
Key Competencies
- Strong familiarity with Microsoft technology stack.
- Strong experience with cyber security domains: IAM, cloud, endpoint and network security and vulnerability management.
- Proficiency in project management tools.
- Knowledge of monitoring and observability platforms
