LOCATION OF WORK: Leggee Elementary School
STARTING DATE: 2026 / 2027 School Year
WORK HOURS: 210 Days / 10 Months / Full-Time
RANGE OF PAY: $82,500 - $90,000. Salary commensurate with education and experience
BENEFITS: Administration, TRS, Voluntary Retirement, Insurance

SUMMARY: As the Special Services Coordinator, you will provide crucial leadership and support to special education staff, including teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service providers. Provide needed technical assistance to IEP teams throughout the District to maintain compliance with IDEA, LEA. Provide administrative supervision for District programs. Promote additional communication with parents of students with special needs. Communication skills for collaboration with building principals and administrative teams is essential.
QUALIFICATIONS: Master's Degree; up to four years' experience working in a special education environment. Valid Illinois PEL with administrative endorsement and appropriate LBSI or Type 73 endorsement. The ideal candidate should possess a proven background in the area of leadership, and extensive knowledge of the pre-referral process and the reauthorized Individuals with Disabilities Education Act. The candidate should employ the ability to effectively communicate with a variety of persons including staff members, parents and students, and should have a keen awareness of services available to the special needs' population outside the school setting. LEA experience preferred but not required. Prior experience as Special Education teacher or related service is required, preferred at the elementary level.
