Job Description

TITLE: Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)
Special Education Support Staff
QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. High school graduate
  2. Current RBT Certification or ability to be recertified in a timely manner
  3. Preferably college experience
  4. Experience working with children with disabilities (preferably students with Social/Emotional needs)
  5. Must be able to lift 30 pounds
REPORTS TO: Teacher(s) assigned
CONFERS WITH: Teacher(s), Specialists, and Building Administrator
JOB GOAL: To support the SEL classroom and implement student behavior plans and support student needs and programming as directed.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Support the SEL classroom with support from the school counselor(s) and BCBA.
  2. Work with students individually, in small groups, or in large groups as necessary and as prescribed by the immediate supervisor.
    1. This position would specifically be working with students with social/emotional needs and require various behavioral and therapeutic supports throughoutthe school day.
  3. Demonstrate a continuous sensitivity to the needs of children to whom they are assigned.
  4. Maintain competency and skills through a variety of available offerings.
  5. RBTs are expected to obtain and maintain CPI (Non Violent Crisis Prevention Intervention) certification.
  6. Other responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: To be established by the school board by August 20th.

2025-2026 HOURLY SALARY: starting hourly rate at $21.81 with current RBT certification

HOUR/DAY: 6.5

SCHOOL YEAR 183 days/year

EVALUATION: Performance to be evaluated no less than annually by the building administrator and immediate supervisor(s).
