Summer Facilities and Maintenance Helper

Location: DISTRICT WIDE

POSITION: Summer Helper � Facilities and Maintenance

JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum Qualifications: *Must be a student at SWISD.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: * Former crew / team working experience. *Ability to work with students and staff.

JOB DESCRIPTION: To help maintain the physical school plant in a condition of operating excellence so that full educational use of it may be made at all times.

SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:

*Ability to follow instructions.

 *Good oral and written communication skills.

*Knowledge of safety procedures.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 1. Work in moving furniture and materials in School District as needed.

2. Understand and follow oral and written instructions.

 3. Responsible for using equipment properly.

 4. Ability to complete tasks in a timely manner.

 5. Ability to communicate and work with co-workers and administration in congenial manner.

 6. Must maintain proper district attire.

 7. Work well under pressure.

 8. Positive attitude towards district policy.

 9. Other duties as assigned.

OTHER INFORMATION: EQUIPMENT USED

Pallet jack, dollies, carts, truck, hand tools, gas, oil, fuels, chemicals.

Mental & Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:

Days: Summer Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing; accuracy and timely completion

of assigned tasks; the ability to keep abreast of new techniques, and new products. Patience and

tolerance, repetitive hand motions; long periods of standing, bending stooping, climbing,

walking, driving, and the ability to lift 50+ lbs. Common work area with moderate noise level.

Exposure to dangerous chemicals and fumes.
