JOB DESCRIPTION
Title: Substitute Teacher
Job Description: Provide direct instruction to all students.
Qualifications:
Responsibilities: Shall include but are not limited to the following:
Terms of Employment:
The position of Substitute Teacher can be per diem, short term, long term or ten-month position.
Reports to: Building Principal
Salary: NYSED teacher certified - $130/day (1-30 days)
- $145/day (31+ days)
Uncertified -$120/day
NYS TRS retiree -$145/day (1-30 days)
-$160/day (31+ days)
as per the Victor Teachers' Association Agreement

Qualifications:
- Hold valid New York State School teaching certificate or requisite hours per NY state guidelines
- Flexibility to meet the needs of a range of student learners
- Ability to work effectively with a variety of staff
- Strong communication skills
- Strong organizational and planning skills
Responsibilities: Shall include but are not limited to the following:
- Ability to follow plans provided
- Ability to plan lessons as needed
- Knowledge of classroom management strategies
- Ability to use computer network system and software applications as needed
- Ability to organize and coordinate work;
- Ability to communicate effectively with students and parent(s) guardian(s)
- Ability to engage culturally diverse students; and
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
