Position: Temporary Summer School Teacher - Grades 9-12 Multiple Positions
Posting Dates: April 16, 2026 - Until filled
Reports To: Summer School Coordinator
Beginning: June 15 - July 31, 2026
Off June 29 - July 3
7:45 a.m. - 12:45 p.m.
Monday-Friday
25 hours/week
Qualifications:
- Valid Michigan teaching certificate required.
- High School experience preferred
- Endorsement in related fields required. (ELA, Math, Biology, Chemistry, Physics and/or Social Studies). Special Ed positions also available based on need.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide content area instructional support to students via individual or small group format
- Monitor and mentor students in online courses
- Ensure students successfully complete course requirements
- Communicate with parents and other instructors as needed
- Participate in required scheduled C planning sessions in May-early June
Additional Information:
- Paid Preparation days in May and June per needs of summer school planning team
- Possibility to extend to 8 weeks per student need
- Summer School begins June 15, 2026
- Final hiring will be dependent on enrollment and scheduling needs
- Hours and duration may vary based on scheduling needs
- Week of June 29-July 3, no school for high school summer students
- Schedule C payrate
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
- Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
- Lifting: Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position to position. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires the substantial use of the upper extremities and back muscles.
- Grasping: Applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm.
- Talking: Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken work; those activities where detailed or import spoken instructions must be conveyed to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly.
- Hearing: Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction, and having the ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and making fine discriminations in sound.
- Repetitive motions: Making substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
- The worker is subject to environmental conditions.
- The worker should provide consistent and reliable in-person attendance.
