ESY Paraprofessional - Temporary Multiple Positions

VACANCY: The Valley View Public School District is seeking individuals to fill temporary paraprofessional positions for the 25/26 Extended School Year program.
 
Orientation: June 1, 2026
Date: June 2, 2026 June 30, 2026 *No classes on June 19th, 2026
Staff Hours: 8:30am-12:45pm (PNR); 7:45am-12:00pm (BHS); 8:45am-12:30pm (MEC)
 

Note: Number of positions to be determined by student enrollment. Paraprofessionals will be notified as soon as possible regarding the status of their employment. 

 
JOB SUMMARY: The Paraprofessionals are responsible to the ESY Principal for: assisting in provision of instructional lessons that meet the needs, interests and abilities of students; creating a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and employing effective instructional techniques. The ESY program will serve students with moderate to severe disabilities and will include certified teaching and related-services staff. 
 
QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must have a Paraprofessional, Teaching or Substitute Teaching license registered with the Will County Regional Office of Education
• Experience with special education population preferred
• Effective communication skills
• Ability to assist in mobility, eating, toileting, and classroom instruction of students with special needs.
• Physical examination and negative TB test

PAY SCALE AND BENEFIT DISCLOSURE: Salary is in accordance with the Paraprofessional Salary Schedule.

WORKING CONDITIONS: Paraprofessionals are paid in accordance with the Paraprofessional salary schedule. All individual and program paraprofessionals accepting ESY assignments do so with the understanding that they may be reassigned at the discretion of the ESY Principal. Classes include children who may require lifting, feeding, or diapering. Applicants must work the entire summer session. No vacation times or subs are acceptable.
