JOB TITLE: ESY School Nurse

LOCATION: Taylor County Schools
 
CERTIFICATION/QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing – Registered Nurse License and West Virginia School Nurse Certification Required
(If no applicants are certified for the position, consideration may be given to applicants who do not meet the certification requirements.)
 
DURATION: July 6 through July 31, 2026. 
 
Time: 7:30-3:30 
 
RATE: Daily rate for actual days worked - No make-ups

RESPONSIBILITIES:
 

• Will provide nursing services for Summer School programs
• Maintain health records of students
• Coordinator with Director of Special Education Policy 2422.7 Specialized Heath Procedures for the special education students during Extended School Year
• Arrange and providing training for personnel who will work with students who have special health care needs
• Maintain records for those who have received training for working with student with special health care needs
• Set up for all specialized health care procedures and provide appropriate supervision for those to whom specialized health care procedures have been delegated
• Provide general health appraisals and referrals for health concerns for students
• Follow up of same students with health concerns
• Counsel parents and students on good health practices
• Provide emergency first aid when available
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor

FUNDING SOURCE: SOLE grant
