Position Responsibilities

As a P.E. Teacher, you will:

• Plan and deliver engaging standards-aligned physical education lessons
• Differentiate instruction to support diverse learners
• Foster a safe, positive, and structured learning environment
• Support students' academic, physical, and social-emotional development
• Use research-based instructional practices and school-approved curriculum
• Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records
• Implement school culture expectations and effective behavior management
• Integrate technology to support instruction and student engagement
• Communicate regularly with families regarding student growth
• Collaborate with colleagues and participate in school-wide activities and events
• Supervise students in various settings as needed
• Perform additional duties to support student and school success

Qualifications

Required:

• Active and current Michigan Teaching License in appropriate content area (Physical Education certification preferred)
• Bachelor's degree in Education or related field
• Strong classroom management and communication skills
• Ability to pass federal and state background checks

• Experience working in an urban school setting
• Comfort in a growth-oriented coaching environment with feedback and professional development
• Commitment to educational equity and student-centered instruction
