What You’ll Do

The Unified Communication Engineer will be responsible focus on technologies and services in the Unified Communications area including but not limited to the following products; Mitel Enterprise voice, Polycom Real presence, MS-Teams & Conference Rooms Audio &Video.

• Administration with Enterprise Voice/Phone System with the primary focus on the Mitel product line, IP Platforms, Microsoft Teams with voice.
• Mitel Director, phone system & Call Center Administration and Daily hands-on interaction with network and unified communications troubleshooting.
• Maintain Inventory of telecom devices
• Video Conferencing – primary contact for all video bridging and client video conferences.
• Serve as the primary resource responsible for Tier 3/ Escalation trouble tickets of day to day VoIP infrastructure issues reported to the network group and follow up as needed.
• Ability to create high quality diagrams and network documentation for network design, implementation and support processes.
• As an Information Technology and Systems team member, you may be asked, as new business needs arise, to accept additional tasks and responsibilities within the department, besides those detailed in this job description.

What You’ll Bring

• Bachelor’s degree (Computer Science or Electrical Engineering) or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
• Minimum of 6 years Unified Communications experience required with a strong understanding of network, telephony, and IT concepts.
• 4+ years of Voice Engineering experience with a primary focus in Mitel technologies
• Experience with voice carrier systems from LightPath, Comcast, Verizon, Windstream,etc.
• Experience with PRI and SIP lines, Mitel/Shoretel ECC, VoIP communication, enterprise PBX and Voice Gateways and Softphones.
• Detailed knowledge of Voice-over-IP protocols and codecs.
• Design, configure and troubleshoot QoS classification, marking and prioritization of network traffic (voice, critical applications, etc.)
• Solid understanding of networking fundamentals as they relate to enterprise networks including but not limited to TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, ARP and QOS.
