Intro

In this role you are part of a dynamic and fast-paced team and will report to the Sr Manager of Corporate FP&A of Booking.com, being part of a high performing team of highly motivated and successful professionals that work very closely with their respective stakeholders and business partners. 
We are looking for a resourceful and analytical colleague to own and drive the forecasting and budgeting cycles, maintain a coherent FP&A calendar, and oversee key projects that drive corporate FP&A initiatives.

This role also includes producing financial reports, improving financial processes, and ensuring the quality of P&L data

The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders.

 

As Senior Financial Analyst you will be responsible for:

 

1. Planning and MEC Process:

• Manage Forecast/Budget Cycle Process: Oversee the entire forecasting and budgeting cycles, ensuring all timelines and deliverables are met.

• Define Timelines: Establish and communicate timelines for each cycle and month-end close (MEC) processes.

• Maintain Corporate FP&A Calendar: Ensure the FP&A calendar is up-to-date and accurately reflects all key financial planning activities in a coherent way

• Deliver MEC CFO Deck: Along with the rest of the team, coordinate, prepare and deliver monthly MEC presentations for the CFO, summarizing financial performance and key insights.

• Deliver key monthly/quarterly/annually reporting: Produce and present financial reports for strategic business reviews (SB), audits, and quarterly business reviews (QBR).

• Process Improvement: participate in initiatives to improve financial processes, focusing on intercompany processes (ICO), financial loads, budgeting, planning, and forecasting reporting and tooling (BP&F).

• Set Up Retrospectives: Organize retrospectives to review process efficiency and monitor progress on improvement initiatives.

1. Forecasting:

   • Risks and Upsides: Identify and analyze financial risks and opportunities, providing actionable recommendations to mitigate risks and capitalize on upsides.

   • Production and Consolidation of Offline Forecasts: Manage the production and consolidation of offline forecasts to ensure they align with overall corporate financial goals.

   • Forecasting Accuracy

2. P&L Quality:

   • Ensure Data Quality: Ensure the accuracy and integrity of data in the P&L, implementing checks and balances to maintain high-quality financial reporting.

 

As Senior Financial Analyst you will have:

 

• Proven experience (typically 7+ years) in financial planning and analysis, corporate finance, or related roles, preferably within a publicly traded company or large complex organization.

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA or CPA preferred.

• Strong understanding of financial principles, accounting standards, and financial modeling techniques.

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel / Google sheets and financial planning software; experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP) is a plus.

• Proficiency in financial modeling and forecasting techniques.
  Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and financial planning software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Hyperion).

• Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to accuracy, integrity, and compliance in financial reporting and analysis.

• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with cross-functional teams.

• Ability to understand, work with and proactively advise and influence senior business partners;

• Sees the headlines or big picture whilst having attention for the details;

• Strong team-working skills with ability to work independently;

• Comfortable working in cross-functional teams
