Position Overview:
The Facility Technician in Insulet Malaysia will be responsible for the installation, troubleshooting, maintenance, energy efficiency, and improvement of the facilities equipment, building maintenance (Civil & Plumbing, M&E), and other related area. They will also be trained and cross-trained to repair, maintain and improve the reliability of various areas or services, outsource services teams, and contractors, ensure their daily activities support business objectives, comply with cGMP requirements, and manage their performance/development. The Facility Technician must keep the facility system upkeeping all the time, the safety of our staff and patients first as a User of our product, be focused on quality, be self-directed, be a motivated team player, and be a fast learner —eager to gain and share new knowledge. The normal schedule for this role is Monday through Sunday with the plant being a 24/7 operation and will require flexibility to maintain standards across all shifts. Facility technicians must be quality-conscious, aggressively self-directed, motivated team players, and initiative — eager to gain and share new knowledge.

Responsibilities:
• Ensure compliance with Malaysian workplace safety regulations and building codes during all maintenance activities and equipment operations
• Maintain and test safety equipment including fire extinguishers, emergency lighting, exit signs, and first aid stations according to regulatory requirements
• Respond to facility emergencies including equipment failures, water leaks, electrical issues, and other urgent maintenance situations
• Report safety hazards and potential risks to Facilities Department immediately while taking appropriate interim protective measure
• Perform daily maintenance tasks including minor electrical repairs, plumbing fixes, carpentry work, and general building maintenance.
• Conduct routine inspections of office areas, common spaces, meeting rooms, and facilities to identify maintenance needs and safety concerns
• Execute preventive maintenance schedules for building equipment including lighting fixtures, door mechanisms, furniture, and office equipment
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests from employees and management, ensuring completion within established timeframes and quality standards
• Assist with basic HVAC system maintenance including filter changes, vent cleaning, and temperature control adjustments under vendor supervision
• Perform electrical maintenance tasks such as light bulb replacement, socket repairs, switch installations, and basic wiring modifications following safety protocols
• Handle plumbing maintenance including faucet repairs, toilet adjustments, drain clearing, and minor pipe fixes throughout office areas and toilets
• Set up and reconfigure office furniture, workstations, and meeting rooms to accommodate space changes, relocations, and business requirements
• Install and relocate office equipment including desks, chairs, filing cabinets, and technology equipment following ergonomic and safety guidelines
• Assist with office moves and space reconfigurations by dismantling, transporting, and reassembling furniture and equipment
• Maintain storage areas and coordinate inventory management of maintenance supplies, tools, and equipment.
• Support to setup space for company event such eve celebration, townhall etc,
• Provide technical support to external contractors and service vendors by explaining facility systems, providing access, and monitoring work quality
• Assist specialist technicians during major repairs, installations, and maintenance projects by providing tools, materials, and local facility knowledge
• Perform quality checks on vendor work and report completion status to Facilities Manager for approval and documentation
• Maintain secure tool and equipment storage while coordinating with vendors on shared resources and facility access requirements
• Complete daily work orders and maintenance requests using facility management systems, providing detailed descriptions of work performed and materials used
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment service dates, and inventory usage for reporting and budget management
• All job requests should attend to within 30min – 1-hour assessment and completed based on job criticality or type. Assist vendors and closely follow up.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical. mechanical, plumbing, civil, and other systems on equipment.
• Assist all authority, internal or relevant body audits, annual authority inspection, and statutory license renewal. e.g DOSH, DOE, BOMBA, SPKA, KPDNKK. etc.
• Basic knowledge of pharmaceutical documentation work such as Deviation, Assist Investigation report, PM Plan, Calibration Plan, Calibration master list, SOP, Monitoring logbook, checklist for PPM, and other related documents for the Facilities system. Preferred.
• Basic knowledge of monitoring and controlling systems such as BAS (Building Automation System), BMS (Building Management System), Control system, and EMS (Environmental monitoring system).
• Ensure contribute to quality plans that have minimal interruptions and smooth return to service.
• Basic knowledge of Solar energy systems and energy efficiency program
• Maintain inventory of spare parts for critical components and consumable parts of the equipment.
• Always ready to carry out any new task assigned from time to time by a superior.
Education and Experience:
• Certificate or Diploma an equivalent combination of education in civil & plumbing, electrical & electronics or mechanical or mechatronics engineering, or equivalent background.
• 1-3 Years of experience with Facilities systems or relevant experience from manufacturing -PCBA, pharmaceutical, healthcare, and cleanroom industry.
• 1-3 Years of experience in facilities division in a high-volume production environment.
• AO / A4 Chargeman certificate is an advantage. Optional

Preferred Skills and Competencies:
• Proficient in computer skills, MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Requires electrical and software aptitude, technical ability, problem-solving skills, and ability to read and understand technical drawings and manuals.
• Technical knowledge of HVAC system, ELV system, Clean room, and BMS.
• Previous experience working in a clean room environment is an advantage.
• Experience working in a regulated industry; Consumer products or Life Sciences preferred.
• Have strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and rigorous process discipline.
• Ability to adapt quickly to changes in daily work plans and unplanned issues on equipment, maintaining a focus on productivity without compromising safety or quality.
• Thirst for knowledge and intense curiosity.
• Sound decision-making using data analysis.
• Multi-language fluency preferred (English, Malay)

Job Title: Plant Facilities Technician
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Position Overview:

Our plant facility systems are vital to keep our people and customers safe, protecting the environment, and keeping manufacturing operations running without interruption. The plant facilities manager, Senior Facilities Techs, and Facility Techs provide 24/7 coverage to monitor, maintain, and improve the plant facility systems. Plant systems consist of Fire Protection, Chillers, Cooling towers, Air Compressors, Hot water boilers, Steam boilers, Electrical switchgear, Solar panels, UPS systems, Generators, Pumps, Valves, Motors, etc. Manufacturing is contained in ISO-8 clean room and is operated following cGMP regulations. Our assets are maintained using a combination of Insulet resources and outside contractors managed by the Facilities team.
Facilities Technician Responsibilities:
- Maintain a cGMP compliant environment and operate within FDA guidelines for 21CFR820 manufacturing.
- Diagnose and repair breakdowns, execute preventative maintenance tasks, and manage contractors to meet all standards for safety, quality, and efficiency. These tasks must be completed under minimal supervision.
- Manage pest control contractors and clean room cleaning contractors, verify they are following established procedures.
- Follow all policies and procedures including safety and quality standards.
- Monitor systems performance via our BMS software to anticipate issues and respond quickly to alarms and warnings.
- Diagnose and repair HVAC equipment, air compressors, minor electrical issues, piping systems, pumps, motors, etc.
- Conduct planned inspections of fire extinguishers, eyewash stations, AED stations, spill containment kits, as well as first responder and first aid kits.
- Document all planned and unplanned work in our maintenance management system.
- Develop maintenance plans including work instructions and schedules in SAP.
- Miscellaneous duties include, but are not limited to, furniture moves, basic electrical work, basic plumbing work, painting, cleaning, carpentry, waste handling, and keeping facility spaces organized and clean. This is a hands-on role.
- Business needs may require weekend, holiday, and off hours support for planned shutdown activities.
Education and Experience:
Minimum Requirements:
- High School diploma or GED
- 3+ years of experience in facilities support role
- Knowledge in: Mechanical Systems, Electrical Theory and Troubleshooting, Plumbing and Piping, Compressed Air Systems, and minor carpentry.
- Written and verbal English communication skills.
- Computer skills and use of MS Office applications.
- Proficient at troubleshooting and diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues.
Preferred Skills and Competencies:
- Certification(s) in specific equipment maintenance and diagnostics
- 1+ years of experience in a GMP manufacturing facility
- Massachusetts State License: Electrician, Pipefitter
- Experience reading and understanding P&ID drawings, electrical prints, and construction drawings.
- Demonstrated ability to work hands-on and desire to interact with equipment and learn mechanical skills.
- Familiar with typical sensors on automated equipment including temperature, pressure, flow, etc.
- Self-starter capable of dealing with a variety of tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility, the facilities technician will be asked to perform a wide variety of tasks
Physical Requirements (if applicable):
- Required to stand for at least 75% of working time per shift, with walking at least 50% of working time per shift.
- Required to reach above shoulder frequently and below waist occasionally.
- Required to push and pull.
- Ability to lift 50lbs occasionally, 5-20lbs frequently.
- Ability to work in tight spaces including confined spaces.
- Able to work night shift.
- Required to work in all weather conditions.
