Track Maintenance Lead

Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Oversee the repair and rebuilding of railroad track, using power, non-power hand tools and heavy equipment, as necessary.
Complete monthly and quarterly track inspections to show the customer high priority repairs needed.
Oversee the maintenance, condition and inventory of track maintenance tools and supplies.
Conduct regular communications with our customers, PSC management, loading and switching operations to ensure track maintenance is being performed safely and effectively.
Oversee and ensure daily safety meetings are being conducted for each shift.
Work with the customer’s permitting process to ensure proper permits are issued and followed as required.
Coordinate daily track maintenance activities and establish clear performance expectations and standards for the team.
Provide coaching and counseling to employees as necessary to ensure their on-going development. This will include performing periodic performance reviews (at least annually).
Identify process improvements and efficiencies that will benefit the customer and PSC.
Oversee and ensure the re-railing of derailed railcars is being conducted safely and within the scope of PSC abilities.
Comply with company and federal safety rules, policies and procedures to include wearing required safety equipment, responding to safety concerns and taking appropriate action.
Completes any other duties that may be assigned to complete the job.
Job Qualifications:
Must be able to follow OSHA safety standards and be always safety conscious.
Experience operating a backhoe is preferred but not required.
Welding experience is a plus but not required.
May require a valid Driver’s License and / or a valid TWIC card, depending on work location
18 years or older and legally able to work in the U.S.
Pass a drug screen, physical, and background check
Wear all required PPE without restriction and pass any required medical exams
Speak, write, read fluent English
Regular on-site attendance and punctuality is required
Previous military experience and proven ability to follow procedures is a plus
