Job Description
Spira is seeking a talented, creative, innovative, and skilled Maintenance Machinist with experience in a manufacturing shop environment. Your role will be to support functions for Spira’s EMI gasket and filter product line using your machining skills as well as operating specialized machinery.

Job Responsibilities:
- Build, maintain, diagnose, and fix machines and tooling in the plant as needed.
- Support Production with troubleshooting Electro/Mechanical/Pneumatic issues.
- Maintain and ensure machines are running well. Discuss priorities with Engineering & Management.
- Make recommendations such as: building new machines or fixing/improving existing machines.
- Help develop and implement plans for regularly scheduled machine maintenance.
- Assist Engineer in machine and tool development as needed.
- Ability to learn TurboCAM or equivalent drawings to document machine parts as needed.
- Perform machine operation with more advanced/skilled production machines as needed.
- Handle misc. safety issues, repairs, and maintenance in the factory as needed or requested.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.
Job Specifications:
Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent required
Years Experience: 4+ years of relevant experience as a machinist or in a related field within manufacturing
Skills:
- Math skills to take precise measurements and make calculations.
- Problem-solving skills to troubleshoot issues that arise during the manufacturing process.
- Understand and apply 6S principles and safety regulations to reduce the risk of workplace accidents.
- Team player, willing to perform facilities functions and help in areas when needed.
- Excellent Communication skills. Read, Write and Speak English fluently. Spanish desirable.
- Organizational skills, typing and Computer skills including email.
- Knowledge of hardware tools, electrical equipment, plumbing, maintenance and renovation.
- Ability to learn machining equipment such as TRACK DPMRX3 with PROTOTRAK controller Mill a Plus.
- Knowledge of how to operate grinders, lathes, and milling machines.
- Ability to Troubleshoot Electro/Mechanical/Pneumatic Issues.
