Trinity Consultants Canada’s Water & Ecology team delivers environmental and scientific expertise for simple to complex projects across Canada. With local trust and global expertise, our team applies the highest standards of scientific excellence and technical precision to help industry and government including Indigenous groups secure or evaluate project permits and approvals to meet regulatory requirements with confidence, and achieve better environmental outcomes.


Our work spans the full project lifecycle, from baseline assessments and approvals through operations, offsetting, monitoring, and closure, with a focus on practical, science-based solutions. Our professionals specialize in water resources, hydrogeology, aquatic sciences, wildlife and terrestrial science, permitting, and environmental compliance, supporting projects in highly regulated environments.

WONDERING WHAT YOU'LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR?

In this role, you will align business objectives with employees and management by developing and delivering HR initiatives, supporting organizational change, and executing people strategies that enable business success.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead, coach, and develop the Business Unit HR team through guidance, performance management, mentorship, and career development.
  • Partner cross-functionally to co-design people strategies, incorporate practitioner input, and build shared ownership of workforce initiatives.
  • Serve as a trusted strategic advisor to the Senior Management Team and business leaders by providing thoughtful counsel, identifying risks and opportunities, and contributing to organizational decision-making through honest, solutions-oriented partnership.
  • Champion HR’s dual role as both business partner and employee advocate by fostering psychological safety, fairness, engagement, and trust, while ensuring people impacts are fully represented in business decisions.
  • Lead employee relations efforts, including resolving complex issues, conducting objective investigations, and strengthening workplace relationships, productivity, and retention.
  • Develop and execute strategic talent initiatives, including recruitment, workforce planning, succession planning, restructuring, training, and executive coaching.
  • Partner with leaders and corporate HR on compensation strategy for hiring, promotions, transfers, and organizational changes.
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws, regulations, and corporate policies across jurisdictions while mitigating legal risk and partnering with legal counsel as needed.

 

THE QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • 7+ years of progressive HR experience, including experience partnering with leaders and supporting employees, with a strong understanding of how to influence organizational structure and culture.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field required
  • HR certification or designation preferred
  • Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including compensation, organizational effectiveness, employee relations, diversity and inclusion, performance management, and applicable federal, provincial, and territorial employment laws
  • Demonstrated interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to foster trust, maintain confidentiality, and provide empathetic, ethical, and culturally aligned guidance.
  • Proven ability to build, nurture, and sustain a high-performance culture rooted in continuous growth, accountability, trust, and organizational values.
  • Strong coaching, mentorship, and leadership capabilities, with experience advising team members and business leaders while supporting emotional and psychological wellbeing.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and attention to detail skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Strong business acumen and operational curiosity, with the ability to understand organizational structure, workforce practices, and drivers of business success.
  • Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply applicable laws, regulations, policies, and technical instructions.
  • Collaborative working style with a willingness to share ownership, leverage operational expertise, and contribute across functions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to define problems, analyze data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, HRIS, ATS, and engagement tracking systems.
  • Experience with BambooHR, ADP, and Deltek Vantagepoint is considered an asset.
  • Experience working in professional services or consulting is considered an asset.
