ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a Medical Receptionist to join our supportive team at SWHC. You will be the welcoming face and voice of Apex Radiology — supporting patients, referrers, and our clinical teams with high-quality service and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Welcome patients and manage front-desk responsibilities in a professional and empathetic manner
  • Answer telephone enquiries and respond efficiently and sensitively to patient needs
  • Schedule patient appointments and determine examination requirements
  • Communicate preparation instructions, procedure costs, and billing information clearly to patients
  • Register patients, manage paperwork, and handle billing and EFTPOS transactions
  • Ensure timely and accurate dispatch of reports
  • Perform Medicare and Veterans Affairs claims batching
  • Support other administrative tasks as directed by management

ABOUT YOU

  • Familiarity with patient booking and entry systems preferred but not required (RIS experience highly regarded)
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology would be preferable but not required
  • High level of professionalism, empathy, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Excellent time management, multitasking, and problem-solving abilities
  • Accuracy in data entry and confident use of Microsoft Office and practice software
  • Cash handling and EFTPOS experience
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
  • Willingness to work across multiple sites if required
