Role Summary
We are seeking a results-driven Group Sales Manager to grow and manage group business across our collection of award-winning properties in Durham, NC. This remote-based role is ideal for a hospitality sales professional located in key feeder markets who thrives on prospecting, building relationships, and driving revenue.
You will represent the Washington Duke Inn & Golf Club, JB Duke Hotel, and The Lodge at Duke Medical Center - a high-performing portfolio of properties known for exceptional service, strong group demand, and versatile meeting and event experiences.
From the refined elegance and championship golf setting of the Washington Duke Inn, to the modern, elevated experience at JB Duke Hotel, to the convenience and comfort of The Lodge at Duke Medical Center, this portfolio allows you to confidently sell to a wide range of clients across corporate, association, and SMERF segments.

Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Market Focus
- Proactively identify, solicit, and secure new group business within assigned markets
- Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate, association, and SMERF clients
- Represent the properties within your local market through networking, industry events, and sales calls
- Monitor market trends and competitor activity to identify new opportunities
Sales Execution & Revenue Growth
- Consistently meet or exceed revenue and activity goals
- Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting through contract execution and post-event follow-up
- Develop and execute strategic sales plans tailored to your assigned market
Client Experience & Collaboration
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring a seamless experience from inquiry through event completion
- Partner with on-property sales, catering, and operations teams to ensure successful execution
- Build long-term relationships that drive repeat and referral business
Administrative & Reporting
- Maintain accurate account records, pipelines, and reporting within CRM systems
- Provide regular updates, forecasts, and reports to sales leadership
- Support promotional initiatives, sales blitzes, and targeted campaigns

- 2 years of hotel sales experience or related. Degree, certification, or training is preferred.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office. Salesforce knowledge is a plus.
- Ability to effectively manage details and take initiative in meeting program goals.
- Developed English skills both written and orally.
- Ability to lift up to 15 pounds.
