Job Description

Purpose of Job: To serve as an ambassador, create publicity and outreach materials, and support office initiatives for Global Fellowships and Awards.

 

Reporting: The Student Ambassador will report to the Assistant Dean and Director of Global Fellowships and Awards (GFA) and may also receive duties from the CLS Program Coordinator that supports GFA.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • To be aware of and promote the fellowship, scholarship, and grant opportunities and Global Fellowship and Award events.
  • Communicate with applicants and recipients to acquire stories, news, and photos from their fellowship application experiences and award experiences.
  • Research, write, and design posters, table tents, applicant and recipient articles, social media, and other resources for publication and distribution.
  • Assist with the coordination of events, information sessions, and workshops that may include the registration process, tabling, advertising/marketing, volunteer coordination, set-up, and materials/nametag preparation.
  • Serve as a resource person to help students and alumni discover more about fellowship and award experiences through tabling, events, information sessions & workshops, and within the Center.
  • Post GFA promotional posters and table tents around campus in all weather conditions.
  • Support the connection of recipient alumni and potential applicants through LinkedIn.
  • Develop Big Interview mock interview assignments.
  • Assist with office duties as assigned such as word processing, filing, photocopying, and answering telephones.
  • Produce assessment materials and initiatives to measure the interest in fellowships and awards. May include: creating assessment surveys, conducting qualitative interviews, and leading focus groups.
  • Assist CLS and GFA staff and fellow CLS student employees with special projects as requested.
  • Attend all scheduled training sessions.
