Job Description

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

The ideal Snowmaking Maintenance Technician for Bear Creek is an experienced Snowmaker who will ensure snow making equipment is running in a safe and efficient manner. This individual is a guest service focused individual with the ability to help create a positive, memorable experience for our guests. The successful team member will be able to work with their team as well as individually, have good communication skills, be detail oriented and foster the Bear Creek culture by focusing on our guests. This position will be an important member of the Snowmaking team, ensuring all snowmaking equipment is maintained to create a safe and enjoyable skiing and snowboarding guest experience.

WHAT WE EXPECT FROM YOU:

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair mechanical related issues on snow guns (various manufacturers) to maximize equipment operation and run times
  • Maintain inventory of snow gun related parts and supplies
  • Set up snow guns and hoses, weighing in excess of 100 lbs
  • Complete start-up and shut down procedures of different types of snow guns
  • Ensure operation for all guns and hoses running in an area that is open to skier traffic. Must be marked with appropriate hazard poles or fencing.
  • Operate snow guns in appropriate areas to suitably cover trails, i.e., not blowing on lifts, in the woods, on buildings, or hill lights & poles
  • Maintain all slopes and trails including lighting fixtures, summer mowing, erosion control, tree trimming, brush clearing
  • Attend training in house or off site pertaining to snowmaking
  • Coordinate and communicate with Snowmaking Shift Leader/Supervisor/Snowmaking Manager concerning snowmaking issues
  • Coordinate and communicate with other departments concerning snowmaking operations
  • Coordinate with groomers for moving fan guns, pushing snow and snow making activity
  • Ensure for the quality of snow being made meets Bear Creek Standards ensuring a quality ski/snowboard experience
  • Shovel out lift tower pads, buried fencing, covered signs and snowmaking hydrants
  • Move and set up equipment for special events
  • Assist in summer projects
  • Assist in construction and welding projects
  • Unload delivery trucks

WHAT WE EXPECT FROM ALL BCMR TEAM MEMBERS:

  • Acknowledge all guests and respond promptly to their needs, however busy and whatever time of day. Ensure unresolved incidents are reported to Manager/Supervisor
  • Familiarity with all hotel services/features and local attractions/activities to respond to guest inquiries accurately
  • Contribute to the team's success by accomplishing tasks and assisting with projects as needed
  • Maintain knowledge and compliance with departmental policies, service procedures, and standards
  • Work as a team member to ensure our guests have the best possible experience
  • Understand emergency procedures and be able to apply them when necessary
  • Report any incidents, property damage or injuries immediately to Manager/Supervisor
  • Attend department meetings and training sessions as necessary
  • Other duties as assigned by Manager and/or Supervisor
