Job Description
The Facilities department seeks a Facilities Technician to assist in the operations, maintenance, and repairs to the University’s buildings and grounds as well as light HVAC repairs. The typical work schedule is an 8-hour shift during a 40-hour work week. Some overtime required.
- Responsible for general maintenance including painting
- Completes facilities work and room set-ups initiated by faculty, staff, and students
- Troubleshoots, repairs and maintains the building systems and facilities as required
- Assists with the completion of small-scale carpentry projects
- Performs repairs of doors, hardware, and basic locksmith tasks
- Completes light electrical repairs to appliances, fixtures and switches
- Completes light plumbing repairs to water and sewage systems including replacement of fittings and clearing of stoppages
- Parks cars
- Repairs and replaces of glass, tile, screens, locks, drapes
- Assists in removal of snow and ice as needed
- Assists in small office moves
- Carries out preventative maintenance tasks as assigned
- Participates in the on-call rotation for emergency situations such as inclement weather or mechanical failures
- Additional responsibilities may be assigned by supervisor
