Location: 7301 E Baseline Road, Mesa, AZ 85209
Compensation: $80,000 – $100,000 annually (DOE)
Start Date: Summer 2026
Schedule: Full-Time, On-Site
Position Overview
Academies of Math and Science (AMS) is a network of high-performing public charter schools committed to academic excellence, college readiness, and equitable access to high-quality education for students in historically underserved communities.
AMS is seeking a dedicated and student-centered Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our team at the AMS Power Campus in Mesa.
The Speech Language Pathologist plays a critical role in supporting students with speech and language needs, ensuring they receive services aligned with their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). This role collaborates closely with teachers, families, and multidisciplinary teams to support student communication development and academic success.

Key Responsibilities
Student Assessment & Services
Conduct speech and language screenings, evaluations, and assessments for students with communication needs.
Provide direct speech and language therapy services in accordance with student IEPs.
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans aligned with student goals.
Monitor student progress and adjust services based on data and student needs.
IEP & Compliance
Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to determine student eligibility and service needs.
Develop, review, and update IEP goals related to speech and language development.
Maintain accurate and compliant documentation for all services, evaluations, and case management responsibilities.
Prepare and submit all required local, state, and federal reports related to student caseloads.
Collaboration & Consultation
Collaborate with general education teachers, special education staff, and administrators to support student success.
Serve as a resource to staff and families on speech and language development and interventions.
Provide training and guidance to paraprofessionals supporting speech and language services.
Support inclusive instructional practices and accommodations for students with communication needs.
Family Engagement
Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress and services.
Participate in parent meetings, conferences, and IEP reviews.
Support families in understanding student needs, services, and communication strategies.
Qualifications & Competencies
Required
Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP)
Must meet one of the following:
Valid Arizona Department of Education (ADE) certification in Speech-Language Pathology
Valid Arizona Department of Health Services (DHS) license as a Speech-Language Pathologist
Ability to obtain and maintain an Arizona IVP Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card
Strong knowledge of IEP development, compliance, and service delivery
Excellent communication, organization, and documentation skills
Preferred
Experience working in a K–8 school setting
Experience supporting students in Title I or underserved communities
Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and paraprofessionals
