Position Overview The IGCSE IB English Facilitator is responsible for delivering high-quality English Language and/or English Literature instruction aligned with Cambridge IGCSE and International Baccalaureate frameworks. The facilitator supports students in developing strong communication, critical reading, analytical writing, and literary appreciation skills within a diverse, multicultural learning environment. Key Responsibilities Plan, deliver, and evaluate engaging English Language and Literature lessons aligned with Cambridge IGCSE and IB curricula Facilitate inquiry-based learning that promotes critical thinking, creativity, and independent expression Develop students’ skills in reading, writing, speaking, listening, and textual analysis Prepare students effectively for internal assessments and external examinations Integrate global texts, diverse perspectives, and contemporary issues into the curriculum Use instructional technology and digital platforms to enhance learning Design and administer formative and summative assessments aligned with curriculum standards Provide clear, timely, and constructive feedback to support student progress Maintain accurate records of student achievement and contribute to academic reporting Use assessment data to inform planning, differentiation, and intervention strategies Act as a mentor, supporting students’ academic growth and personal development Support English language learners (EAL) through appropriate scaffolding and differentiation Communicate effectively with parents regarding student progress and learning goals Promote academic honesty, positive learning behaviors, and student well-being Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum planning, moderation, and interdisciplinary learning Participate actively in faculty meetings, professional learning communities, and school initiatives Engage in ongoing professional development, including IB and Cambridge training Contribute to the school’s international ethos, values, and extracurricular programs Conduct additional support classes for students if needed. Guide students in Extended Essay coursework. Qualifications Skills Educational Qualifications Master’s degree in English, Education, or a related field. Recognized teaching qualification (PGCE, B.Ed., or equivalent) Experience teaching IGCSE English Language and/or Literature and IB English Strong understanding of international curricula and assessment frameworks Experience teaching in an international or multicultural school setting (preferred) Professional Experience Excellent subject knowledge in English Language and Literature Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to foster critical thinking, creativity, and student voice Cultural sensitivity and adaptability in a diverse learning environment Effective classroom management and organizational skills Proficiency with educational technology and learning management systems Committed to safeguarding and child protection policies Benefits at CHIREC Competitive salary depending upon qualifications and experience Lunch on all school-working days School transport as per the available bus routes Comprehensive Medical Insurance Personal accident policy Term Life policy Professional Development How to Apply Complete this application before the closing date.
