Typical Shift Patterns

Cleaning roles across schools and government sites operate at fixed times that cannot be adjusted to suit individual preferences. Before applying, please carefully review the shift patterns below and only indicate availability for shifts you can genuinely commit to, including travel time to and from site.

School sites generally operate across two shifts:

  • Morning shifts: start between 4:00am – 6:00am and finish between 7:00am – 9:30am
  • Afternoon shifts: start between 1:00pm – 3:00pm and finish between 6:00pm – 7:00pm

Other government sites and facilities may operate outside standard school hours, with start and finish times varying based on operational requirements.

Casual shifts may include earlier morning starts or later evening finishes to support relief coverage across multiple sites.

Important: The availability you indicate in your application must reflect the hours you are genuinely able to work. Offers are made based on stated availability, and changes at the offer stage may result in your application being unable to progress. If you are unsure whether a shift pattern suits your circumstances, travel arrangements, or other commitments, please reconsider before applying.
