R&D Technologist
Advanced Cleans & Slurry Technologies (ACST), Qnity is a leading chemical supplier to the Semiconductor industry. We are looking for a talented R&D Technologist to join our analytical and application team in Newark, DE.
This role provides analytical and laboratory technical support to multidisciplinary R&D efforts. The R&D Technologist will work closely with scientists, engineers, and technologists in a collaborative, team-driven environment to support product development, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives.
The ideal candidate has hands-on laboratory experience, strong organizational and communication skills, and a passion for learning and contributing in a high-performing technical team.
Primary responsibilities will include:
- Set up, operate, troubleshoot, and maintain laboratory equipment and analytical instruments, including physical testers, particle sizers, trace metal analyzers, and related instrumentation.
- Timely collect, analyze, and summarize experimental data; maintain accurate laboratory notebooks, electronic databases, and analytical reports.
- Develop, update, and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), troubleshooting guides, and maintenance records.
- Conduct experiments with increasing independence, demonstrating strong planning and attention to detail.
- Work safely in an R&D environment, actively participating in company safety programs.
- Preform slurry analysis and characterization to support formulation development, troubleshooting, and quality investigations by executing experiments under the direction of scientists.
- Collaborate professionally with cross-functional teams including R&D, application, and quality teams.
Required Qualifications:
- Must have a BA or BS in chemistry and/or related engineering/science degree
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience working in a lab environment, preferably in an R&D or industrial setting.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a strong safety-first mindset.
- Experience and solid understanding with analytical techniques such as wet chemistry and spectroscopy.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively within a team.
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks, projects, and tools simultaneously in a fast-paced laboratory environment.
- Familiarity with or ability to learn various software platforms (e.g., databases, SharePoint, statistical analysis tools).
