Provide administrative support to the Sydney Policy Reform Project
HEO5 $61.44 per hour + superannuation
About the opportunity
The University of Sydney is hiring a Student Affairs and Engagement Assistant to provide administrative assistance to the Sydney Policy and Reform Project. This role will respond to project‑related enquiries from organisations, students and academics. It will complete recruitment of new partner organisations, students and academics. The role completes administrative tasks associated with all aspects of the project, including selection and prize committees. The role provides some guidance to student project groups and communicating with academic supervisors where required to resolve issues.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
Research and identify potential partner organisations
Maintain ongoing communications with current partners
Advertise and recruit students for opportunities, convening panels and notifying students of application progress
Advise participating students of their obligations and procedures, deadlines, disclaimers and format guidelines
Coordinate administration required for scholarships, including seeking approvals
Provide minimal substantive edits to final papers
About you
Qualifications/Certificates in a relevant field or equivalent experience in a similar role
Prior experience in a research role will be advantageous
Strong administrative skills
Has excellent stakeholder management experience able to build and maintain relationships at all levels
Strong and effective verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work in a team and independently
Demonstrated experience or interest in policy and law reform
Sponsorship / work rights for Australia
You must have unrestricted work rights in Australia for the duration of this employment to be eligible to apply. Visa sponsorship is not available for this appointment.
