About the opportunity
The Faculty of Medicine and Health at the University of Sydney is seeking a dedicated Education Support Officer to join the School of Health Sciences.
The Faculty is currently undergoing significant investment and growth as part of the University’s strategic priorities. In this context, the role provides broad education administration and operational support to academic, teaching, and professional staff, ensuring the effective delivery of teaching and learning activities across the School.
The role requires initiative and sound judgement to plan work activities, resolve day-to-day operational issues, and deliver key responsibilities in a timely and effective manner.
There is a requirement for this position to be on site four days per week. Limited hybrid working arrangements can be discussed with your manager if you are successful in this position.
Please note that these roles are not open to current University of Sydney students.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
- provide comprehensive administrative and operational support to academic, teaching and professional staff to ensure effective delivery of education programs, curriculum, and teaching priorities
- coordinate core teaching processes including assessments, examinations, timetabling, scholarships, and results processing
- support the management of education systems and data, including maintaining accurate records, databases, and contact lists
- manage the preparation, coordination, and publication of academic content across print and online platforms
- work within a shared task model, delivering allocated responsibilities while providing support across the team
- assist with the implementation of education processes and improvements in consultation with academic staff
- liaise with academic and professional staff to ensure accurate, timely, and consistent education delivery across the School
About you
- demonstrated experience in education administration within a tertiary education environment
- strong client focus with proven stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to build effective working relationships with academic staff
- experience with learning management systems (LMS) and other digital tools to support teaching and learning
- excellent communication skills written and verbal, with the ability to interpret and communicate policies and processes clearly
- strong problem-solving skills with the ability to use initiative, exercise sound judgement, and manage competing priorities during peak periods
- high level of computer literacy, including experience with Microsoft Office and database systems
- highly developed interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively across teams and support shared workloads
