Sportsbook Level 2 Trader
Job Description
We are on the lookout for our next Trader to join the Sportsbook team in our Malta office!
As a Sports Trader (Level 2), you aren't just watching the game; you are the architect of the market. You will bridge the gap between real-time execution and strategic risk management. This role is designed for a data-driven specialist who understands the "why" behind the odds and can proactively protect the sportsbook's margin through sophisticated customer profiling and liability control.
Responsibilities:
- Strategic Trading: Execute and optimise trading strategies while managing real-time market liabilities and large-scale risk exposure.
- Risk Mitigation: Analyse customer betting patterns to minimise risk, adapt limits, and optimise profit margins across multiple brands.
- Market Intelligence: Monitor global price movements and competitor activity to ensure our markets are priced in line with the company strategy.
- Product Evolution: Provide critical feedback on sportsbook products and report on bugs to ensure a seamless cross-regional user experience.
- Performance Reporting: Generate deep-dive reports on trading performance and customer segments to identify growth opportunities.
- Specialised Setup: Set up special markets by following predetermined guidelines to drive engagement and variety.
- Collaborative Support: Act as 2nd-line support for the customer experience team on complex sportsbook-related queries.
- Experience: 1+ years in a Sportsbook environment is highly preferred (ideally in a trading or risk capacity).
- Analytical Mindset: Highly numerate with a clear understanding of the correlation between probabilities and odds. You think in "expected value."
- Technical Toolkit: Proficient in Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables) and basic data analytics.
- The "Sports DNA": A profound passion for sports, but with the ability to remain objective and data-led during high-pressure events.
- Operational Agility: Excellent time management skills with the ability to balance multiple live projects.
- Flexibility: Ready to thrive in a 24/7 global industry—this includes working evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
- Communication: Professional-level fluency in English (written and verbal).
