Job Description
LOCATION OF POSITION: Fairport NY 14450; EMCC
TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: 10 Month Position; Full-Time
STARTING DATE: September 2026
SALARY RANGE: $48,500 - $78,642 per school year (or higher depending on BUP negotiations)
*Actual salary is dependent upon education, experience and contract.

Look no further! We are looking for a motivated and energetic individual to serve as a Learning Support Specialist to support students and CTE teachers at the Eastern Monroe Career Center.
DUTIES:
1. Provide support for students with both IEPs and 504 Plans across Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs.
2. Support CTE teachers in the planning, implementation and evaluation of instruction for students with disabilities.
3. Ensure proper implementation of IEPs and 504 Plans to meet student needs.
4. Serve on a multidisciplinary team to support students who are struggling and offer recommendations to improve student performance and achievement.
5. Effectively communicate with school staff, parents, and districts as it relates to supporting student success.
6. Assist in the creation and implementation of professional development activities to increase staff awareness and ability to support students with special needs.
7. Demonstrate knowledge of federal and state regulations regarding students with disabilities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Appropriate NYS Special Education Teacher Certification required.
2. At least five years of successful teaching experience preferred.
3. Experience working within a high school setting preferred.
4. Training in Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) or similar problem-solving strategies preferred.
5. Knowledge and experience implementing a Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) preferred.
6. Proven leadership with classroom team management preferred.
7. Physically able to perform all essential functions of the position (with or without reasonable accommodation).
