Salary Range: Mesquite ISD - Compensation Plans
Shift Type: Full-Time
Wage/Hour Status: Exempt
Reports To: Coordinator - Math

 

This position is funded with Title 1, Part A and continued funding of this position will be based on the availability of Title 1, Part A funds.


EMPLOYMENT BEGINS: As soon as possible


 

PRIMARY PURPOSE:

  • - To achieve and maintain standards of excellence in the instructional program in the assigned curricular area as indicated in the ESSA application.

QUALIFICATIONS: 

Education/Certification:

  • - Master's Degree Preferred
  • Texas Teacher Certificate

SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:

  • - Respond with initiative and innovation to the assigned curricular area needs of students and teachers
  • Work with teachers in enhancing classroom instruction through TEKS alignment
  • Develop professional learning sessions related to TEKS alignment and state assessment
  • Maintain professional competence in areas of responsibility
  • Communicate effectively with a variety of audiences
  • Collaborate as a member of the district curriculum team
  • Possess knowledge and understanding of the policies and procedures of the MISD
  • Exhibit highly effective organizational and consensus-building skills
  • Possess knowledge of assigned curricular content including familiarity with multiple areas of state instructional standards
  • Possess knowledge and understanding of the change process, organizational development, conflict resolution, and facilitation skills
  • Ability to articulate clearly and knowledgeably the goals and standards of the district curriculum and initiatives
  • Successful experience in curriculum development

EXPERIENCE:

  • - Successful experience as a teacher in assigned curricular area
  • Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the administration may find appropriate and acceptable

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • - Assist administrators and campus leaders with alignment of TEKS
  • Provide support for teachers working with diverse populations
  • Assist teachers with instructional strategies through classroom modeling, collaborative planning, and follow-up conferences
  • Provide professional learning sessions in core content and curriculum to teachers and administrators
  • Support teacher collaboration as a facilitator related to TEKS alignment
  • Assist in planning, organizing, coordinating, and conducting professional learning workshops, training and presentations to administrators and teachers
  • Establish and maintain clear communication and collaborative relationships with administrators and teachers
  • Collaborate as a member of the district curriculum team
  • Perform other duties as assigned

  • Communicate well, making multiple decisions regarding curriculum demands as well as decisions regarding teachers' educational and emotional well-being

  • - In district and out of district travel
  • Lift, carry, and deliver various weights of materials
