The RN Supervisor of Clinical Dialysis Apheresis is responsible for scheduling, assigning daily duties and assessing the general performance of the nursing staff in the practice. Responsible for the patient care systems and structures that promote the provision of excellent nursing care. Collaborates with support staff to ensure the smooth operation of the Dialysis practice and provides quality patient care.
GENERAL DUTIES
- Develops long-term practice staffing schedules and ensures daily coverage in accordance with established staffing needs.
- Creates and maintains cost effective systems to ensure the availability of adequate staff for the department.
- Develops active quality improvement systems and participates in nursing department initiatives.
- Oversees the education and orientation of nursing staff and keeps abreast of current trends, quality issues and departmental affairs.
- Develops, manages, evaluates direct reports and ensures performance appraisals are completed in a timely fashion.
- Provides pleasant environment within the dialysis room by maintaining order and assuring the availability of reading materials.
- Documents patient care services by recording post-dialysis weight and vital signs, completing charting in patient and department records.
- Maintains quality renal dialysis results by following standards.
- Improves renal dialysis job knowledge by attending training sessions and reading technical publications.
EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS
- 3 years of Dialysis/Aphersis experience in a health care setting required.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
- Registered Nurse License
- BLS-HCP
