observe and verify equipment assembly / make-up, inspection, pressure testing, function testing, dimension checking at other contractor supply base, the review and verification of all related pressure test and torque charts as well as instrumentation testing and calibration documentation;
review other contractor’s lifting management systems and procedures and verify that they comply with Company’s latest Lifting Management System (LMS) requirement and examine and verify that all transportation, lifting and handling equipment, including transport baskets are properly certified and inspected including lifting capacity certification and corresponding load capacity markings;
examine and confirm that other contractors’ inspection, lifting, handling, preservation and storage procedures for carbon steel and High Chrome/Corrosion-Resistant Alloy (CRA) tubulars/equipment in accordance with conform to the API requirements (API 5CT, API 5CRA, API RP 5C1, API 5A5, API 5A3, etc) ;
verify that drilling tubulars have been inspected in conformance with the requirements of either DS-1 or NS-2 including the review of inspection documentation for each item;
review and validate data packages provided by other contractors on delivery of materials including certificates of origin, material certification, inspection and testing reports and charts;
examine all relevant items of surface equipment that will be operated in Zone 1 or 2 and confirm that they have been designed, manufactured, equipped and rated to operate in Zone 1 or 2 in accordance with the requirements of ATEX - European Union Directive 94/9/EC (or equivalent) and certified as such by an officially appointed ATEX Notified Body.
review and approve welding and heat treatment procedures and welder qualification test certificates and observe that critical welds and heat treatment are performed in accordance with the approved procedures;
observe casing and tubing inspections and/or review the documentation to verify that the inspections including visual and dimensional inspection, hardness testing, magnetic particle inspection, electromagnetic inspection, residual magnetism measurement and demagnetisation, ultrasonic inspection and evaluation of imperfections and deviations have been performed in accordance with API RP 5A5, and verify that the tubulars have been properly cleaned and tubular coating and thread compound has been properly applied;
perform equipment failure and damage investigations including witnessing the tear down of failed and/or damaged equipment. This also includes the review and evaluation of other contractors' damage/failure reports and a complete review of the subject equipment’s maintenance, inspection, repair and failure history;
maintain a non-conformance log with a description of all significant quality assurance and control non-conformities, with the identity of offending party and corrective action taken as well as provide trend analysis and regular reporting; and
review other contractors quality management systems and plans, records and certification status and report all significant non-conformities.
