Position Summary: 

The Maintenance Lead is an advanced-level technician and regional support specialist responsible for complex repairs, site quality control, and strategic maintenance initiatives across multiple LifeMoves facilities. In addition to performing high-level maintenance work, this role supports new site readiness, conducts site audits, strengthens preventative maintenance programs, and ensures compliance with safety and accessibility standards. 

This position serves as a technical leader and mentor to Maintenance Specialists, while acting as a key resource for specialized repairs, facility improvements, and operational consistency across sites. 

Key Responsibilities: 

Advanced Repairs & Technical Expertise 

● Execute complex repairs and specialized work such as unit turnovers, FRP installation, tile work, epoxy flooring, gate systems, and structural repairs. 

● Diagnose recurring or systemic facility issues and implement long-term solutions. Special Projects & Site Support 

● Support new site openings, transitions, and facility upgrades, including punch list completion and site readiness. 

● Lead or assist with beautification and facility improvement projects to maintain LifeMoves standards. 

● Provide rapid-response support for high-priority or complex maintenance issues across sites.

 

Site Audits & Quality Control 

● Conduct site audits to evaluate maintenance quality, safety conditions, and overall facility standards. 

● Identify deficiencies and implement corrective action plans in coordination with Maintenance Leads. 

● Monitor consistency in repair quality, cleanliness, and preventative maintenance practices across locations. 

Compliance & Safety Support 

● Assist in ensuring compliance with OSHA, ADA, and Life Safety standard as well as LifeMoves partners such as city and county inspections, VA inspections, etc. ● Serve as a safety liaison, supporting hazard identification, mitigation, and documentation. 

● Support fire/life safety systems, inspections, and readiness efforts across sites. Preventative Maintenance & Systems Support 

● Perform and support preventative maintenance activities such as hydro-flushing, system checks, and equipment servicing. 

● Assist in developing and implementing preventative maintenance standards across sites. ● Support maintenance of gates, access systems, and building infrastructure. 

FMX, Inventory & Asset Management 

● Support FMX system accuracy, including work order documentation, asset tracking, and reporting. 

● Assist with equipment and inventory audits, ensuring tools and materials are tracked and maintained. 

● Recommend improvements to inventory systems and maintenance workflows. Team Leadership & Training 

● Train and mentor Maintenance Specialists, providing hands-on guidance and technical support. 

● Promote best practices in safety, efficiency, and quality workmanship. ● Collaborate with Maintenance Leads to support team development and performance improvement.

Core Maintenance Responsibilities 

Unit Turnovers & Inspections 

● Assist with turnovers and routine inspections to assess condition and identify needed repairs. 

● Prepare units for re-occupancy, including patching, painting, cleaning, and setup. ● Coordinate with Maintenance Leads and site staff to ensure timely and high-quality turnover completion. 

Building Repairs & Trade Work 

● Perform carpentry, flooring, and fixture repairs and replacements. 

● Troubleshoot electrical systems including outlets, switches, fixtures, and appliances. ● Complete plumbing repairs including fixture replacement and clearing stoppages. 

 

 

Qualifications: 

● 5+ years of maintenance or construction experience, with advanced technical capabilities 

● Demonstrated ability to handle complex repairs and multi-site support work 

● Proven leadership skills and ability to mentor and train team members 

● Strong understanding of building systems, safety standards, and compliance requirements 

● Experience with work order systems and inventory tracking 

● Valid CA driver’s license and proof of insurance 

● High school diploma or equivalent; trade certifications preferred 

Preferred Skills & Experience: 

● Experience with FRP installation, flooring systems (tile/epoxy), and gate/access systems ● Familiarity with OSHA and ADA compliance requirements 

● Experience supporting new site openings or renovations 

● Certifications such as boom lift operation or safety training

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

This position is contingent upon:

  • Satisfactory results of a background check
  • Submitting proof of clear TB test results. Results dated within 60 days prior to hire date are acceptable

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

This position requires regular travel between agency sites, community partner locations, client service events, and internal and external meetings. As such:

  • A valid [State] driver’s license and reliable transportation are required.
  • Must be able to travel throughout Santa Clara and San Mateo Counties as part of regular duties.
  • Mileage reimbursement is provided in accordance with agency policy.
  • Occasional evening or weekend travel may be required to attend community events or support client services.
  • Must maintain vehicle insurance as required by law and agency policy.

Physical Activity Requirements: 

● Lifting: Lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly and occasionally up to 75 pounds ● Movement: Frequent standing, bending, stooping, climbing ladders, and use of tools ● Ability to sit and use a computer or mobile device as needed
