About the Role
The Head of Reserving Governance plays a key role in supporting and executing the reserving governance framework. This role focuses on ensuring strong controls, comprehensive documentation, and adherence to policies and standards across the reserving function.
The role partners closely with Finance, Risk, and Audit teams to maintain compliance, enhance controls, and promote best practices.
Key Responsibilities
Governance Framework Execution
Support the implementation and ongoing maintenance of the reserving governance framework.
Ensure consistent application of governance standards across reserving processes.
Assist in the development and enhancement of governance structures and practices.
Documentation & Policy Management
Lead the development and maintenance of documentation for reserving methodologies, assumptions, and processes.
Ensure documentation is complete, accurate, and regularly updated.
Support the development and maintenance of reserving policies and standards.
Controls & Compliance
Oversee execution and testing of controls related to reserving.
Coordinate with Finance and Internal Audit on control reviews and remediation efforts.
Ensure appropriate documentation and evidence is maintained for audit purposes.
Stakeholder Coordination
Work closely with Actuarial, Finance, Risk, and Audit teams to ensure alignment and compliance.
Support responses to internal and external audit requests.
Promote awareness and adherence to governance standards across the function.
Continuous Improvement
Identify opportunities to strengthen controls, improve documentation, and enhance governance processes.
Support the implementation of best practices across reserving activities.
Qualifications & Experience
10+ years of actuarial or related experience, with exposure to reserving.
Strong understanding of governance, controls, and documentation requirements.
Experience with SOX controls and audit processes.
Strong organizational and documentation skills.
Effective communication and stakeholder coordination skills.

The base salary range for this position is $152,000 - $180,000 annually. The offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, experience, qualifications and work location.
